Henna stains differently on different parts of the body depending on how thick the top layer of skin is. As you can see, the palms of the hands yield the darkest stain. Here are some examples of the range of stain darkness.

I just got some Yemen Summer 06 and it’s phenomenal! Here’s a sequence of the stain:
The design, the paste:
Eight hours: Immediately after paste removal, already a deep fiery orange.
Twenty-four hours: A beautiful garnet color
Forty-eight hours: Gorgeous blackberry color

I just spent time with my friend Jill in the hospital who is on bedrest after preterm labor at seven months. My friend Diane painted her toenails while I did henna on her belly. It was so much fun!
