I just got some Yemen Summer 06 and it’s phenomenal! Here’s a sequence of the stain: The design, the paste: Eight hours: Immediately after paste removal, already a deep fiery orange. Twenty-four hours: A beautiful garnet color Forty-eight hours: Gorgeous blackberry color

Indian designs are delicate, lacy, and intricate. African styles are very geometric. Muslim designs must not be exact replicas of nature or they distract the bearer from prayer. Instead, they abstract natural designs geometrically. Middle Eastern designs are smooth and floral but more bold than Indian designs.

I just spent time with my friend Jill in the hospital who is on bedrest after preterm labor at seven months. My friend Diane painted her toenails while I did henna on her belly. It was so much fun!
